Praises for Claire
Ewart's Work
I love sharing my
discoveries with writers and artists
young and old.
With powerpoint
images and samples of work I encourage
writers to use their natural curiosity
to seek out story ideas all around them.
My audiences have a
rare opportunity to grab front row seats
as I demonstrate how an idea conceived,
and then sketched and revised, becomes a
story. Revision improves my work so I
am glad to share the importance of
finding just the right word, or
reworking a drawing to make a memorable
book!
Often my work relies
heavily on research. That research has
taken me from Amish farms in Indiana to
palaces in India, to the Indonesian rain
forest, and to nomad tents in the Sahara
desert. Audiences come away with a
sense of wonder, having shared in my
adventures!
Type of Presentations:
I enjoy sharing the
process of creating books with children.
I’m glad to work with older readers
and writers as well.

my books. The more familiarity
